Music & Entertainment
WALES has always punched above its weight when it comes to entertaining the world.
From singers who have filled stadiums and actors who have conquered Hollywood to television dramas watched around the globe, celebrated comedians, West End performers and home-grown productions, Welsh talent has travelled far beyond the nation’s borders.
Music & Entertainment brings together some of the people, programmes, performances and stories that have helped put Wales on the international cultural map — while also celebrating the venues, industries and creative communities that continue to develop new talent today.
Music Influencers
Welsh music stretches far beyond any single genre or generation.
International stars, groundbreaking bands, distinctive voices and influential musicians have repeatedly emerged from Wales, making their mark on rock, pop, classical music and beyond.
Our Music Influencers section celebrates the artists who have helped shape popular music in Wales and around the world, from established legends to performers whose influence continues to grow.
TV & Film
Wales is increasingly visible on screens across the world.
Welsh actors and film-makers have enjoyed remarkable international success, while Wales itself has become an important location for major television series, films and streaming productions.
From Hollywood stars and acclaimed Welsh dramas to programmes filmed in Cardiff, the Valleys, the coast and the countryside, TV & Film explores both the talent in front of the camera and the Welsh locations appearing behind it.
It is a story that stretches from much-loved television favourites to some of the biggest productions of the modern streaming era.
Performance & Theatre
From traditional theatres and community stages to London’s West End and international productions, Wales has a proud theatrical tradition.
Welsh actors, singers, dancers, writers, directors and theatre companies continue to make their presence felt, while venues throughout Wales provide audiences with everything from touring musicals and drama to experimental productions and new writing.
Our Theatre section celebrates the performers, productions, venues and stories behind Welsh theatre — at home and further afield.

Comedy
Wales has produced its fair share of people capable of making the world laugh.
From pioneering entertainers and much-loved television personalities to stand-up comedians and a new generation finding audiences on stage, television and online, Welsh comedy comes in many different forms.
Our Comedy section looks at the personalities, programmes and performances that have contributed to that tradition — and at the unmistakably Welsh sense of humour that so often lies behind them.
YouTubers We Love
In a new recurring feature, Ewegottalove will celebrate creators with Welsh connections, as well as international personalities whose work has particular appeal for our readers.
Each feature will combine a short profile, a selection of the creator’s most interesting videos, a Welsh or international connection, and an original Ewegottalove perspective.

Wales Entertains the World
The story of Welsh entertainment is much bigger than a collection of famous names.
It is also about opportunity, creativity and the ability of a relatively small nation to continually produce performers and ideas capable of reaching enormous audiences.
Some remain closely associated with Wales throughout their careers. Others build international reputations before audiences even realise where their stories began.
Together, they form another part of the extraordinary cultural footprint Wales has created around the world.
And there are plenty more stories still to tell.
