Ancre Hill Estates

The 12 hectares of Welsh vineyards are perfectly positioned on south facing slopes close to the border town of Monmouth and the Wye Valley. The ethos is to make wines of the highest quality, utilising traditional biodynamic and organic viticultural practices to produce the best possible fruits from carefully sourced and selected varieties with excellent heritage. The Welsh wines produced at Ancre Hill express the terroir of ancient mudstone and sandstone soils, giving the wines their character and natural flavours, with no external intervention or manipulation in the winemaking process.

Croffta Vineyard

The Croffta vines were planted some 40 years ago by the late John and Barbara Bevan on the edge of Groes Faen in Mid-Glamorgan. The Dell Vineyard

The Dell Vineyard is located near the village of Raglan, Monmouthshire. A south facing vineyard nestled in the rolling hills above the Usk and Wye valleys, in an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Planted in 2002, the established vineyard was eventually abandoned for a few years before being lovingly restored to its former glory in 2017. Dan and Lucy Alford were looking for something new after working through the covid pandemic, and in early 2021 took on the 1 acre site of 1600 vines as a starting point for their viticulture adventure. Plans are afoot to plant a further 5 acres of vines next year on the family farm located a few miles away. They aren’t open to visitors yet, but have big plans so stay tuned!
