THE GUARDIAN newspaper had it as No.2 in their 20 great Ashes moments; the place: Swalec Stadium, Cardiff, the year: 2009, the event: the 1st Ashes Test between England and Australia… they would call it simply: ‘The Miracle of Cardiff’.
It was the height of cricketing drama as unlikely heroes Monty Panesar and Jimmy Anderson held on for a draw nobody could have foreseen to deny Ricky Ponting’s tourists.
