About Ewegottalove

Hi, Ewe All!

SO, why ‘Ewegottalove Wales‘, we hear you cry? The name Ewe-Gotta-Love, for those not in the know, is a playful nod to our nation’s most famous four-legged residents (the sheep!) and the fact that, really, you’ve just gotta love it here.

Because how else would you sum up a place with rolling green hills, fluffy sheep at every turn, and people so warm you feel at home the second you arrive? Ewegottalove, put simply, is a bit cheeky, a bit sheepish – and perfectly Welsh.

What are we here for? Well, Ewegottalove at its core stands for many things. Fundamentally, we are all about informing and raising the profile of Wales globally; in Wales, about Wales, for Wales.

With an emphasis on social enterprise, we believe in:

  • championing the small businesses which make Wales tick, primarily through our initiatives Made in Wales, Stay in Wales & Venues in Wales;
  • promoting and supporting often-unsung local community environmental programmes;
  • giving charities a voice through our sister brand, Third Sector Wales;
  • generating long-term overseas charity programmes through our charity arm Changing Lives;
  • developing partnerships designed to further all of the above ambitions.

Who’s running the show?

LET me introduce myself. My name is Jeremy King, a long-time journalist, editor, content producer and designer from the wonderful little town of Penarth, on the south Wales coast. I feel blessed to live in an area where you are never far from the seaside, the lush Welsh countryside, or the city life of our magnificent Welsh capital, Cardiff.

After almost three decades working for the national newspaper of Wales, the Western Mail, it was time for a change, and the opportunity to focus for the next decade or so on life-changing volunteer work as publicity officer for two charities close to my heart in India.

Living in India, and experiencing many highs and lows working with severely underprivileged children and families, gave me a new appreciation for how lucky I was to call Wales my home. Ewegottalove began as a personal creative outlet – born from a love of my country and the desire to shine a light on the people, places and culture that make Wales so unique. The philanthropist in me never went away, and I created Third Sector Wales as a stand-alone arm of ewegottalove.com to continue to develop my interest in helping others.

My background wasn’t in business, but in words and visuals and I started Ewegottalove with a blog and social channels, not fully knowing where it would lead. Over time, it grew from a side project into a trusted platform as I developed a recognisable brand that people began to connect with. It opened doors I never expected – from working with independent Welsh businesses and artists to being invited into events, campaigns and community projects. Every connection has helped shape the direction of the platform, deepening its purpose and reach.

But it was the global pandemic of 2020-2021 which gave Ewegottalove real purpose, making itself freely available as a promotional tool to small businesses struggling to keep their heads above water post-Covid.

Not all of them made it, but many were grateful to accept our unpaid help in showcasing their business, accommodation or venue, not only on the website, but to a wider audience of followers in the Ewegottalove Wales Instagram community (who I affectionately like to call my ‘flock’).

Today, I like to think that Ewegottalove stands as more than a brand – it’s a digital hub of positivity, authenticity and local pride. By evolving it into a broader creative enterprise. I hope to give a platform to more voices, and build an even larger community around what makes Wales – and the people in it – worth celebrating.
