Swansea Arena

Sitting in the heart of the Copr Bay development, Swansea Arena is a landmark 3,500 capacity multi-purpose indoor arena which opened its doors in March 2022 Pictures: Swansea Arena

OPERATED by the Ambassador Theatre Group, the flexible, multi-purpose Swansea Arena hosts up to 200 performances a year across music, comedy, theatre and e-sports plus conferences and events.

The development of the Arena is the most significant achievement within phase one of Swansea city centre’s regenerative Copr Bay district.

The Arena sits as the crowning jewel within a 1.1-acre coastal park – the first new city centre park since the Victorian era – and surrounded by new independent restaurants, apartments, two new multi-storey car parks and a landmark ‘gateway’ bridge spanning Oystermouth Road, seamlessly connecting the city centre to Swansea’s Marina, the beach and the region’s famed coastal path.

The Arena also forms part of the Swansea City and Waterfront Digital District project which is being part-funded by the £1.3 billion Swansea Bay City Deal.

Boasting the ability to host 3,500 at full capacity, the Auditorium floor also features full access to the site, meaning that any conferencing, trade show, exhibition or event can be realised easily and effectively.

With a bespoke and purpose-built partition wall, the venue also features the ability to host multiple events simultaneously; for example, a banquet for 750 on the Auditorium floor can be complemented by a seminar ongoing within the Circle, with no risk of interference or distraction.

Worth a visit in their own right, the three concourse levels are individual and stunning, with the copper skirting and roof façade mirroring both the undulating exterior of the building and the nearby expanse of Swansea Bay.

With its own dedicated entrance, corporate guests and those with upgraded Ultimate Lounge Experiences can be admitted to an intimate and cosy private VIP bar area throughout the year on show nights.

This space is also perfect for small, intimate performances, talks, discussions and informal meetings, with its own catering facilities, both hot and cold refreshments, and dedicated facilities.

Across the western edge of the complex, at coastal park level, there are a variety of purpose-built meeting rooms which can facilitate gatherings of anywhere between two to 80 people in a mixture of boardroom and theatre layouts.
