NSPCC ChildLine
CHILD ABUSE is when a child is intentionally harmed by an adult or another child – it can be over a period of time, but can also be a one-off action. It can be physical, sexual or emotional and it can happen in person or online. It can also be a lack of love, care and attention – this is neglect.

We’re supporting families in Wales when they need us to help make sure children are given the best chance in life.
We have service centres in north and south Wales offering support to children, families and professionals. We support parents and families in caring for their children and provide therapeutic assistance to help children move on from abuse.
We also provide help and support through the NSPCC helpline, ChildLine and our work with schools.
One in five children in the UK have suffered abuse, robbing them of their childhood. That’s why we’re visiting primary schools across Wales to give children the knowledge they need to stay safe from harm and to speak out if they’re worried.
We provide help and advice for children and young people about a wide range of issues, support online, on the phone, anytime. ChildLine has two bases in Wales, and a Welsh language service.
Children’s Services
Our services support children and families throughout the country.
We provide therapeutic services to help children move on from abuse, as well as supporting parents and families in caring for their children. We help professionals make the best decisions for children and young people, and support communities to help prevent abuse from happening in the first place.
To do this, we work directly with children and families in our service centres across the UK and Channel Islands and through innovative projects such as Together for Childhood.
Our Scale-up Unit works with other organisations to help them deliver and test our programmes locally and sharing what really works, to help even more children and families.
