Expect to see cosplayers galore at Titan Wales Comic Con

“We want Titan Wales Comic Con to be a summer highlight for all lovers of pop culture in south Wales,” says event organiser Andrew Macfetters.

“Some of the things we have planned will not have been seen here before and I am particularly excited about a couple of big movie scenes we are going to recreate.

“Our Jurassic Park T-rex dinosaur and jeep will provide some great photo opportunities, while our guests can also get to pose on a Star Wars landspeeder along with stormtroopers from the visiting UK Garrison.

“We will also have other iconic vehicles on show, including Herbie the Love Bug Beetle, Fred Flintstone’s Flintmobile, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles van, the car from Danger Mouse (a UK first), plus motor cycles from Ghost Rider and The Walking Dead.

“Fans of a certain vintage will appreciate some blasts from the past, such as original Star Trek, Aliens and Red Dwarf displays, Ghostbusters groups and props, Doctor Who and Star Wars characters and props, not forgetting our Jurassic Park star attraction, and Battlestar Galactica’s Cylons will be making a first appearance in Wales.

Special guest stars, such as Terry Molloy – the evil Davros from Doctor Who – will make an appearance

“Of course, we won’t be forgetting the younger members of the family. Paddington Bear props will be among those on display, while characters like Pikachu, from Pokemon, Disney’s Stitch, and Sonic the Hedgehog will be there to meet and greet the kids.”

Aside from ghostbusters, stormtroopers and The Welsh Trotters – a group of Fools and Horses enthusiasts from Wales – guests will include Christopher Ryan (The Young Ones, Bottom, Absolutely Fabulous, Only Fools and Horses, Doctor Who), Clem So (Star Wars, Doctor Strange, Doctor Who, James Bond, Deadpool And Wolverine, Guardians Of The Galaxy, Assassins Creed, Fantastic Beasts, Justice League), Terry Molloy (Doctor Who – ‘Davros’, The Archers, The Bill, Casualty) and Martyn Ballantyne (Harry Potter, The Dark Knight, Star Wars, Indiana Jones).

Cosplayers, representing characters from anime, manga, video games, film and comics, will be out in force including guest appearances from Wallace and Gromit, Batman, Deadpool and Pennywise the clown among others.

The iconic Star Wars landspeeder will be on hand for unique selfies, along with members of the UK Garrison

“We are raising money for Dementia UK and would love for interested parties to come forward and support us by sponsoring one of our movie cars or displays, and have their name associated with this big event,” says Andrew.

“We hope that people will come from far and wide for our range of movie experiences and get to take home some great memories.

“We also want Titan Wales Comic Con to be accessible to all. There will be free parking at the stadium and we have kept the entry price down to just £10 per person, with under-12s allowed in free of charge. We do ask that under-16s be accompanied by an adult.”

Some tickets will be available on the door, but to make sure you don’t miss out please book online.
