Halloween in South West Wales 2026

SOUTH WEST WALES offers a wonderfully varied setting for Halloween.

Swansea and its surrounding communities bring plenty of entertainment and nightlife, while Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire add castles, countryside, coastal attractions, family destinations and some suitably atmospheric historic settings.

Featured Halloween Events

Here we will showcase some of the main Halloween attractions and events across South West Wales. New listings will be added throughout October.

SCREAMTIME – MARGAM COUNTRY PARK (15 October–1 November): One of the biggest Halloween attractions in Wales returns to Margam. The kilometre-long immersive Screamtime trail uses live actors, themed scare zones and horror attractions, while the lighter Spookytime experience provides an option for younger visitors aged seven and above. A Scare Village adds food, entertainment and fairground rides.

CALAN GAEAF AT DINEFWR (17 October–1 November): Newton House and the Oak Yard at Dinefwr embrace the traditions of a Welsh Halloween for half-term, with folklore, ghostly visitors and magical play bringing Calan Gaeaf to life in Carmarthenshire.

DINEFWR AT DUSK – NEWTON HOUSE (28–30 October): As daylight disappears across the Tywi Valley, Newton House takes on a rather different character. Dinefwr’s special dusk openings provide another atmospheric option during Halloween week.

HALLOWEEN TRAIL – KIDWELLY CASTLE (26 October–1 November): Kidwelly Castle joins Cadw’s Halloween programme with a week-long seasonal trail through one of Carmarthenshire’s most impressive medieval settings.

HALLOWEEN TRAIL – LAUGHARNE CASTLE (31 October): Visitors to Laugharne Castle can search for missing letters hidden around the site, eventually spelling out a Halloween word and earning a prize for completing the challenge.

South West Wales has plenty of history, folklore and old buildings to draw upon.

Pumpkin Picking & Seasonal Attractions

Pumpkin fields, autumn days out and seasonal family attractions deserve their own place in the guide.

Halloween Entertainment

Theatres, cinemas, pubs, clubs, music venues and other entertainment businesses often embrace Halloween too.

We will be looking beyond the traditional visitor attractions to include them.
